HP E60165 Repair Page
Jamming overview:
1. Replace feed rollers if end user complains of jamming issues. These rollers are much smaller than the m605 version and do not last as long by any means.
2. Fusers (L0H24-67903 with rollers) will fail as normal. Plug and play installation (easy)
2. There is an issue with higher volume machines with at least 150,000 or in poor print environments, it is a timing issue most likely reported as mismatch error (41.03.XX) With these machines printing 65 ppm in a machine that should be slower, any paper hesitation will cause this. After checking the paper size under the main menu and it shows letter/plain, clean all the transport rollers and replace the registration unit (RM2-8774-000CN) to fix the issue.
3. Another issue can be related to the above with the paper being sensed improperly (41.03.XX). This is simply checked by opening and closing the cassette and checking the paper size under the main menu. If it shows a metric size (for us USA techs) then you should press the levers (that tells it the size you're using on your cassette) on the inside of the left machine in the cassette cavity. If incorrect, replace the cassette (RM2-6766-010CN). Most of the time, it is the cassette that needs replaced not the size detection switch(RM2-1255-000CN). This is something HP has added to some of their models that is new. This could be fixed easily (a workaround) if HP would add in their software to use this size only option.
4. Another issue I have seen is jamming duplex with the paper exiting on top when it should have been pulled back in. See here.
Opinion: Had a lot of calls on this model in 2025/2024. My Printer base has quite few of these (23 or more). Machines are too fast for what their engineered to do. Do expect to have a higher maintenance cost on these then the M605 predecessor model. I have seen a lot of mismatch errors, replaced most paper handling sections in the machine, and have replace toners before the HP says they are empty . Please see my notes above to you help you determine these issues with the experiences I've had.
